Grand Marshal

The Milltown 4th of July Committee is proud to recognize Don Hohner as our 2009 Grand Marshal. Don has served the residents of Milltown for over 25 years as an active member of the rescue squad.
 
His efforts and dedication has allowed the Milltown Rescue Squad to remain one of the few totally volunteer squads in Middlesex County. We are proud to honor Don, as well as acknowledging the efforts of the entire rescue squad, for their exemplary volunteer service to the residents of Milltown
.

Fishing Rodeo & 5K
The Milltown Rescue Squad will be sponsoring its annual Fishing Derby.  The derby is scheduled to begin at 6:00am.
 
The Knights of Columbus will be sponsoring their annual Fun Run and 5K Run. The Fun Run begins at 7:30am and the 5K Run begins at 8:00am.
 
Check-in will take place at the Senior Citizen Center.

 

 

Mr. Ray
Mr. Ray will be entertaining again this year.  Mr. Ray is scheduled to perform from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the Senior Citizen building located on Violet Terrace.
 
Children of all ages will be amazed at the singing sensation of this talented performer.
 


 

 
Mr. Ray will perform a variety of original and favorite children’s songs which will have the kids and adults singing, laughing, and dancing!

 

 

Patriotic House Contest
For the 4th year in a row, we will sponsor the Most Patriotic House Contest, to be judged by the community. Stop by the committee tent to cast your vote for your favorite house!

Town Prepares for Festivities
The reviews are in and the critics say this years’ event is sure to be a Blockbuster!!!

Director's Notes
The Milltown 4th of July parade will kick off at 10:00am rain or shine. The parade begins at Van Liew Avenue and continues down Main Street to East Lincoln to JFK Drive and concludes at Violet Terrace. The parade has numerous community organizations and entertainment.
 
The opening ceremony will begin at 12pm at Borough Park with the singing of The National Anthem by Emily Johnson. In addition to various activities at the park the participants can enjoy free music, hot dogs and soda. Additional food vendors will be on-site with their products available for purchase. Food vendors will be available for both the day and night festivities. As the theme this year is “Lights, Camera, Milltown” the music at the park during the day will be from famous movies.
 

Don’t forget to check out the committee tent located in front of the gazebo.  As always, the committee will be selling t-shirts and collectible mugs.
 
The evening entertainment will be Milltown’s own Classic Rock Band
Filmore Daze. Our amazing fireworks display by Interstate Fireworks will begin at 9:30pm at Borough Park
.

 

 
Cast of Characters
Everyone is invited to stroll down the red carpet and have a photo taken with a past or present Hollywood star.
 
Some of the celebrities include Hannah Montana, the Jonas Brothers, Darth Vader, James Dean, Humphrey Bogart, Marilyn Monroe, Johnny Depp, Troy and Gabriella and many more.
Come out and make a memory.

 

 
Back by Popular Demand
There will be rides for the kids to enjoy at the park located on Violet Terrace from 12:00pm to 3:00pm.  The rides this year include:
 

Tubs of Fun, The Trackless Train, Swing Ride, Wild Rapids Water Slide, Jurassic Adventure, Big Top Circus, Gorilligan’s Island,  Adventure Sports Challenge, The Rat Race.

*In order to enjoy the rides a wrist band must be purchased. Wrist-bands can be purchased prior to the 4th of July for $7 at the following locations:

Borough Hall-Washington Avenue
The Ice Cream Depot-Washington Avenue
Milltown Convenience-Main Street

Wrist bands can be purchased at the park on July 4th, however, the price of the wrist band will be $12.

 

 

 

 
Supporting Cast
The 4th of July celebration is funded by donations from businesses and residents. You can help support the celebration by making a monetary donation. Make checks payable to the Milltown 4th of July Committee and mail to PO Box 545, Milltown.
 
Other ways to support the event is to volunteer to work on the committee or volunteer to help on the day of the event. If you would like to march in the parade, show off your classic car, or just want to help out for the day...please send an email to:
